The book 40s is a selection of works by Shamim Bahar, which he previously wrote between the ages of twenty and thirty. Some of these works have never been published, and others have already been published in magazines of the same period. The book consists of three books. The first book is a collection of stories that the author has published in Andisheh va Honar magazine during the years 1965 to 1974. The second book contains memoirs and film critiques that he wrote between 1964 and 1969, in which there are notes about Nabokov that still retain their value over the years. The third book is a screenplay called "Romance", which is the only surviving screenplay by Shamim Bahar.
